More than 13,000 Votes Cast for Animals from Seven Shelters
Monday, November 2, 2020, Washington, D.C. Best in Shelter (www.bestinshelter.org, a nonprofit organization aimed at raising the public’s awareness of animal shelters and sanctuaries, is pleased to announce the winners in its 2020 Competition.
Mischa from The Senior Dog Sanctuary won first prize, earning $35,000 for the organization.
Donut from Baltimore Animal Rescue & Care Shelter won second place and a $20,000 prize.
Mozart from Small Miracles Cat and Dog Rescue won third place and a $10,000 prize.
Shelters who did not win, were given a $2,000 grant for participating, awarded to Puppy Paws Rescue, Last Chance Animal Rescue, Animal Welfare League of Arlington and Animal Welfare League of Alexandria.
Best in Shelter founder and President Martha Grimes said “Congratulations to the winners of the 2020 Best in Shelter competition. The too-often-overlooked people who tirelessly work for animal shelters are to me the heroes of the animal world”.
